Nigerian Navy Hands Over 187 Bags of Cannabis Intercepted Using Falcon Eye
Falcon Eye Surveillance Leads to Another Major Interception by Nigerian Navy
The Nigerian Navy recently handed over 187 bags of cannabis sativa to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) following a successful maritime operation. The interception was made possible through the Nigerian Navy’s integrated surveillance efforts—powered in part by the Falcon Eye system.
The operation, conducted in Badagry, underscores how real-time surveillance, maritime domain awareness, and swift naval response continue to disrupt the activities of drug smugglers and other criminal elements using Nigerian waters.
According to official statements, the seizure and subsequent handover further solidify the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding national security and upholding maritime laws. The NDLEA commended the Navy for their vigilance and seamless cooperation.
As a critical component of Nigeria’s maritime security infrastructure, Falcon Eye has consistently proven effective in detecting, tracking, and enabling interception of illicit activities—from piracy to smuggling and now drug trafficking.
